Nominate Candidates for the 2026 Elections
ALL MEMBERS INVITED
Self-nominations are welcome
Deadline: November 30, 2025
The CIES Nominations Committee warmly invites nominations for the upcoming annual election of officers and members of the Board of Directors. Each year, this process offers us the opportunity to recognize and elevate the talents, commitments, and diverse perspectives that sustain and strengthen our Society.
We welcome nominations from across the full spectrum of our membership—academics, practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and students—who are dedicated to advancing the mission of CIES.
We especially encourage nominations of members who have been historically underrepresented or marginalized in our field and in leadership roles, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color; first-generation scholars and practitioners; LGBTQ+ members; neurodivergent members; members with disabilities; and those from low-income or working-class backgrounds.
Just as importantly, we value nominations that reflect the rich geographic, disciplinary, and professional diversity of our global community.
To submit a nomination, email the requested information as one PDF attachment to oed@cies.us.
All nominations must include:
- Name, affiliation, and contact information for the person nominated.
- Summary statement indicating that appropriate guidelines have been met.
- Brief paragraph stating the rationale for nomination (100-150 words).
- Contact information of the person making the nomination.
Should a nominee be included on the election ballot, the nominator will then be asked to help secure the following information from the nominee at a later date:
- Biography (250-500 words)
- CV
- Photo
- Short candidate statement (250–500 words) outlining their vision for CIES
Nominations are open for:
- Vice President
- Treasurer

Additional information about the duties of these positions may be found in the CIES Constitution and Bylaws.
