Call for Editors Book Series
Education in Global Perspectives!
The Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) Board of Directors is pleased to announce a Call for Editors for the CIES book series, Education in Global Perspectives.
Launched in 2018 in collaboration with SUNY Press, the series publishes three monographs annually by authors who bring disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives to enduring and emerging questions related to the political economy of education, educational policy and practice, educational leadership and planning, educational development and change, learning, teaching, and schooling, educational diversity and underrepresented groups, and related areas of comparative and international education.
Books in the series may employ global, cross-national, regional, or other comparative approaches to educational phenomena. They may utilize large datasets for quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods analyses; feature multi-sited ethnography; present in-depth or comparative case studies; or compare and contrast educational phenomena historically across sites, scales, and systems.
Responsibilities of the Series Editor(s)
The Series Editor(s) will review book prospectuses and manuscripts, make initial assessments regarding their scholarly merit and suitability for publication, organize virtual writing workshops for selected authors when appropriate, and work closely with authors to strengthen manuscripts by connecting them with specialists in relevant fields and facilitating scholarly feedback. The Series Editor(s) will also be expected to mentor and support early-career authors throughout the publication process as part of the Society’s commitment to fostering the next generation of scholars.
