RFP for the new CIES Secretariat

The Comparative and International Education Society (CIES), Inc. solicits proposals from institutions in the U.S. that may be interested in becoming the Secretariat for the Society for a three-year period beginning on July 1, 2010, with a possible three-year renewal after that. Semi-finalists will be invited to present their proposal at the meeting of the CIES Board of Directors during the annual conference, held in Chicago, March 1-5, 2010. UREAG Travel Grant for CIES 2010 Applications

You are invited to apply for the UREAG-CIES Travel Grant. Each year CIES Board makes available a limited number of awards to UREAG-CIES members presenting papers at CIES's annual conference. All awards are made on a basis of merit. The criteria and amounts for each award are described below.

Award Criteria:
Award decisions are influenced by the following criteria: merit of applicant's conference presentation, the nature of the applicant's participation in UREAG, impact and potential value to the philosophy and goals of UREAG, value for the development of the applicant's potential, appropriateness of submitted budget, need, and proof of external support. Key factors in the award decisions are merit of acceptance of proposal for conference presentation.

Dear CIES members,

We have created an online forum for you to post comments on CER articles or other items (2 Million Minutes Documentary, Jackie Kirk's Tribute, Steve Klees' Presidential Address). Please note that you need to register to access the forum (this is a security measure so our forum remains free from spam). The forum registration steps are as follows:

1. Visit the forum (www.cies.us/forum) and sign up.
2. An email will be sent to the Secretariat office, where your application will be validated
3.  Another email will be sent to you with your user name and password
4. Once your account is activated, you will be able to log on to the forum and post/read other members’ reactions in "CIES General Discussions"
